Missed the Umbrellas?
Visit You Tube to see the Umbrellas of Red Wing. Students in the Red Wing area directed their imaginations to create fabulous umbrellas that were on display during the Red Wing Arts Association Plein Air Art Festival. Artists in the festival painted paper umbrellas that are currently on display at the Depot Gallery.
Arts Tour Minnesota Grant:
The RWAA is happy to announce that we received a grant for "Arts Tour Minnesota" in the amount of $6,585 from the MN State Arts Board. This grant will bring a touring play by the Minneapolis theater company, Live Action Set, to Red Wing. They will conduct a theater workshop with Red Wing children and present the play "The Seven Shot Symphony" in Central Park on the evening of July 6th. We are very excited to have a play presented as part of our Concerts in the Park series. We would like to extend a huge "Thank-you" to the MN State Arts Board and the State of MN for thier financial support of the arts in Red Wing.
MN State Arts Board Festival Grant: The RWAA has also received a Festival Grant for $11,200 from the MN State Arts Board to support our Plein Air Arts Festival in June. Plans for the Plein Air Arts Festival are being finalized and more details will be available soon. We are happy, once again, to extend our gratitude to the MN State Arts Board and the State of MN for their support.
SEMAC Operating Grant Awarded: The RWAA has received a $4,000 grant from the Southeast Minnensota Arts Counci "Arts on the River 2011" which includes Earth Day Arts, Concerts in the Park, Garden Tour, and Umbrellas of Red Wing.

Awards:
Len Guggenberger's, "View from Barn Bluff" was juried into the 56th Annual Exhibition of the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and received one of the top four awards. The painting was on exhibit at the prestigious and historic Salmagundi Club in New York City.This painting is a fine example of realistic-impressionism and has earned Guggenberger national acclaim once more. Guggenberger's work will be on exhibit here in May and June.
