Art Call
Upcoming Depot Gallery Shows
The Gallery Committee has scheduled two exciting shows to open our 2008 gallery season. Look through your inventory or create new work for these gallery events.
Art - The Human Figure
Jan 4 – Feb 10
This show will feature artwork with a primary focus on people and the human figure as an element of composition. To develop an interesting show, we are encouraging artists to submit a wide variety of portrayals (ages, genders, races, cultures, etc) in a wide variety of media – photo, sculpture, and
2-D and 3-D. We have just started to organize the show, let us know if you plan to enter work.
Fire and Ice
Feb 13 – Mar 23
For this show, we are calling for artwork that portrays the elements or
feelings of fire (heat) or ice (cold), work that illustrates or contrasts
winter and summer, particularly the adaptation to winter. We plan to create
a number of community events around the theme of this show. Possible events
include outdoor fire events, roasting marshmallows, s’mores, ice sculpture,
ice sculpture contest. If you have ideas or would enjoy working on this
project, let us know.

Notes from the Director
This has been a successful and exciting year for the Red Wing Arts
Association. The support and participation of the members is the foundation
all successful organizations. I want to thank the many people that have
volunteered. We encourage any interested members that would like to be a
part of the “art action” here at the Depot to get in touch with us. Visitors to the Depot Gallery are impressed with the wide variety of art
that we have on display. Many of our guests come from other parts of the
country and world. We certainly can be proud of our gallery. We also need your feedback about the gallery. Please send us your
observations, suggestions, concerns, and ideas. Just stop by the gallery,
drop a note in the mail, or send an e-mail with your suggestions. We would
greatly appreciate it.
