Special Event for 2016: Pollinator Workshop and Opening Ceremony for Pollinator Park

If you attended the 2015 Garden Tour, you may remember the "fun" navigating in downtown Red Wind due to the Hwy. 61 construction project. The construction continues in 2016. Plus, Red Wing Arts Association and the City of Red Wing will open a unique Pollinator Park. That is what we celebrate this year.

Let’s Talk Pollinators, a workshop to grow your knowledge, and a celebration of the dedication of Pollinator Park will be held on Saturday July 16 in Red Wing, MN. The day begins at First Presbyterian Church, 503 W. 6th St., with registration and refreshments at 8 am. Three educational workshops run from 9 am to noon. Each attendee receives an information packet and a potted pollinator plant. Reserve your spot by calling Red Wing Arts Association or stopping in, $5 in advance or $8 day of event.

At 1:30 pm, celebrate the dedication of Pollinator Park at the corner of Main Street and Broad Avenue in downtown Red Wing. The new park features pollinator plants, a commissioned sculpture by Jeff Barber and an informational kiosk. The garden was developed by Red Wing Arts Association and the City of Red Wing, and designed by Scenic Spaces.

Let’s Talk Pollinators is sponsored by Red Wing Arts Association and Goodhue County Extension Master Gardeners. To register, call 651.388.7569 or email info@rwarts.org.
